Proposal Form for Music Magazine
Name: __Jordan.J_________________________________
AS Media Studies G321: Foundation Portfolio in Media
Music Magazine Proposal Form
Target audience:
(age range, interests)
|
My magazine is targeted at 15-18 year olds , the genre of rock is often noticed at the age of 15 and a higher percentage of teens
|
Possible title ideas:
(masthead / title block)
What is your magazine going to be called?
|
· Sagacity
· Amplified
· RnR
· Sinister
· Venom
|
Main image:
What will be the focal point of your front page, remember, your work
|
Idea 1 - group image of rock band slaughter house , props including guitar
|
Main cover line:
What will be the main story?
|
My main story will focus on an exclusive interview with a created rock band named Horror-House recently awarded as the best Rock group in Britain and best new comer of 2013 , the interview will show them on tour as well as talking about their rise to the top and the hardships fights fallen outs highs and lows of becoming Horror-house.
My main story will shed light on a shocking collaboration between TY.Punk and Lil’Don
|
Additional key images:
What other images will be on your front cover?
|
Images for my other stories which do not have as much importance or significance in my magazine
|
Additional cover lines:
Other features, stories or selling points which will be inside the magazine, these need to be audience appropriate.
|
I decided to mention the names of other Singers/bands on the side or bottom of my magazine ,it is a familiar method used by many music magazines as those who are interested or follow any of the celebrities mentioned would tend to read on about them
|
Typography:
(style, size, colour of copy)
Think about the writing and the style of the writing on your front page.
|
Black as font , Black is a colour which connotes evil and mystery and is also associated with power , formality and the unknown.
|
Background colour/image:
What will be in the background, remember you don’t want to take the focus away from the main image.
|
I’ve decided to use a mostly white background but to prevent it from being too plain I will use the colours of red and black. The colour red connotes fire and blood which are both elements highly associated with the ideology of Rock furthermore it connotes energy, strength and passion. The use of white and red symbolizes the attitude towards Rock in society with white and red/black contrasting as positive and negative colours it represents the variation of opinion about Rock between the older and younger generation. At first I planned my front cover to be similar to a theme of a cartoon strip/pencil sketch using the colours of black and white this was prior to me realising it would possibly send out the wrong impression of my magazine as PG friendly
|
Technical considerations:
(equipment, setting, props, costume, lighting)
Be realistic and creative, think about what you have access to and how you could use it.
|
Musical instruments for Rock band
· Guitar
· Microphone
· Drums
|
2 Page Spread:
(what will be the main article in your magazine?)
This will need to be the main story on your cover, what detail will be featured inside?
